The van has a small block V-8 (302 OR 351W), that is very hard to get at since it is in a van.
VIN: E14HHX24849
Do these engines take the same cap plugs and rotor? I am getting conflicting info from rock auto.
Yes same cap and rotor and plugs for both (depending on what heads) . Get the brass terminal ones. (cap and rotor) The aluminum ones are crap. I use Autolite or Motorcraft copper plugs
Cap & rotor changed in 1977. No 302's in 1975/78's.
It has the small cap and rotor then. These can be replaced with the larger, later (post type) cap and rotor, all you need is the cap adapter, which sometimes is included in a cap/rotor package. I'm running this type on my 77 Comet's 331.
Thank you very much sir, that is exactly what I was looking for. The decoder I found using google showed it to be a 390.
I knew that was not correct, although it would have doubled the value! I am very fond of the FE engine.
My dream goal for this van would be to put a 460 with a 5 speed. It has a three on the tree.
I am not sure if it is even possible to put a 5 speed shifter in the van.

They were available with the light duty Mazda 5spd's in the late 80's. In your van, you may have to trim a floor cross member and modify the dog house.
