66 e brake assy.

I'm looking for the e brake pull handle assembly. I have the handle, but the ratcheting mechanism is missing. My cable's a mess too but I can buy that new.
Will the handle assy. for a 65/66 Mustang work? They sure look the same. Any help/education would be so awesome.

You sure might be able to make that work. Someone might have tried it and know.

The handle for the trucks is a little different (centered) than the handle for the Mustang (offset) and I know if you put the handle from a Mustang on a truck sector shaft it works but the words BRAKE are upside down, short of drilling holes.

This is the sector shaft - showing the part number mostly so you can't see the ratcheting surface from this angle.

The bracket portion is shaped a bit differently so at the firewall you might have to fill and drill some new holes. Ditto possibly with under the dash. Unless you just use the sector shaft and handle. Might work. I don't have any 196x Mustang stuff here to try that but perhaps someone else has.

I have so much $$$ into those complete NOS assemblies I don't know if I would even feel right trying to sell them.

Tell us a little more about your truck - F100, F250, F350 or other? Wheelbase length?

I probably have a good used assembly that I could sell for a good price. I'm not much of a seller, but a great buyer! Shipping, as much as anything else, seems to kill the joy somewhat these days.

I have a 1966 F100 2WD short bed. The restoration is a Father and Son (in law) project and we're having a lot of fun with it. The truck was originally a V8 automatic but the previous owner had already started modifying a few things. It's now a 302 3 speed floor shift but we have a fresh new C4 and it still has the original auto column. It has power steering and power front disks. The P.O. that did all the work died before I bought the truck so I can't ask any questions, but it looks like the entire front end and drive train came off of a donor vehicle. The only rust is in the bed and we're still trying to decide on how to repair it since there doesn't appear to be any repair panels available. Right now I'm gathering all the parts we need to finish it. I would really appreciate it if you could see if you have a decent used one that you might be willing to sell, otherwise I might just have to try and see if a Mustang setup can be adapted. My handle and sector shaft are in pretty good shape and the handle is replaceable if I can't restore it.

I probably have what you need as I changed mine to a foot operated e-brake. You can have my original for minimal price plus shipping.

I used a set up out of a 73 79 series with the foot style, works good. Local pick n pull.

No.
Parts catalog pic: What part is missing?

The handle itself is also truck only. The 1960/65 Falcon/Comet & 1965/66 Mustang handle is shorter, it can be used, but it has to be mounted upside down.
