Handbrake handle

Looking for a source. Tried Carpenter and "no joy". Need the handle and clip that retains the cable to the HB mechanisim. Need new or OEM. I have one on there now but it is cracked and will fail soon. Thanks!

The handle and shaft assembly were not service parts as I recall...only the spring and tension clip ...I do have a good original assembly though. PM or email if interested.

None of the following three specific truck parts are listed in DC's 1957/66 truck repro parts catalog, dunno if anyone else has them.

1960/65 Falcon/Comet, 1962/65 Fairlane, 1965/66 Mustang: CODZ-2760-B brake handle has been repro'd, fits just fine, but has to be installed upside down so will read BRAKE topsy-turvy & bassawkwards.

When the C0DZ handle was still available from Ford (C1TZ went obsolete long before), peeps used to paint the white BRAKE letters black...avoiding the topsy-turvy bassackwards look.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~
C1TZ-2760-A .. Parking Brake Release Handle-Includes C0DZ-2819-A retaining pin - handle to sector / Obsolete / ZERO available NOS
Applications: 1961/67 F100/250 / 1961/67 F350 with T-87 3 speed M/T or Cruise-O-Matic.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The handle attaches to this:
B7C-2790-A .. Parking Brake Sector (shaft) / Obsolete / ONE available NOS
Applications: 1957/67 F100/250 / 1961/67 F350 (see apps above).
----------------------------------------------------------------
Towards the end of the outer parking brake control shroud is a hole. The following fits into it, retains the sector in place.
OM-2859 .. Parking Brake Pin-Knurled 5/32" x 15/16" / Obsolete / 30+ available NOS
Applications: 1960/67 F100/250 / 1961/67 F350 (see apps above) / 1950/51 Mercury, Lincoln & Lincoln Cosmopolitan / 1952/58 Ford/Mercury Passenger Cars / 1955/60 Thunderbird.
The whole enchilada: Parking brake control and all its individual parts, F/R parking brake cables, equalizer lever, adjuster rod, clips and et cetera...are shown here:
1964/72 FORD TRUCK PARTS CATALOG / ILLUSTRATION SECTION 26 - PAGE 9.
I used the mustang handle on mine and it works fine and looks stock. The hole for the roll-pin is 90 degress off, so you'll have to redrill the handle for that. Another difference is that the shaft attaches at the handle off-center (vs center with the truck handle), but that's not an issue.
The better thing about the truck handle design is it is centered...the handles overall size is the same...you get more equal pulling umphh with the truck vs the car handle..and given a trucks heavier and when loaded you need the extra tightness, I would opt for the OE design handle...theres a reason for everything ya know :-)
There's not an option for the OE handle that I know of. If it were, I'd still have to consider the price vs the $6 mustang handle.
HB Handle Followup
Thanks for all the input. I found an aftermarket handle (chrome-centerpull). $35.00 I'll report back here with results after I install it and yank on it a few times.
