This seems to be one of those upgrades that not many people do, so there isn't much feedback out there. I'm looking at CM Truckbeds, simply because there are dealers a reasonable distance from me in North West FL. But I'm open to other brands as well. My requirements are : Long bed, Dually, Skirted bed with boxes in front and behind the rear axle, preferably Aluminum since my 5th wheel TH is pin heavy anyway. It looks like the ALSK model from CM is a good choice.
Anyone have:
1. Opinions or reviews of the CM Beds?
2. Opinions or reviews of a truck bed dealer in the Southeast that will install the bed for me (I will remove the old bed, but I do not have access to a welder to install the brackets). I don't mind traveling to find a good shop.
There are plenty of CM beds mounted to trucks all sorts of places. There isn't much to go wrong with on a flatbed. If a company is in the business of selling flatbeds, they usually mount them for you. It amounts to how it is put together, how good are the welds, hinges and latches and wiring. That is about all there is to a truck body.
I had a flatbed on a couple of pickups. It was okay. Anymore a regular box serves me just fine.

Thanks, Unfortunately my truck came from New York and had some undisclosed bed cancer that the dealer covered up with a spray in liner. It looks fine, but the front bed rails on the bottom where the dually flares connect to for support have rusted away and I no longer trust it to support my 5th wheel hitch in the bed. Truck only had 32k miles on it when I bought it and the bed was already toast. If I had known about it I would have walked away from the deal.
Hmmmm, well Mister, CM makes some good truck beds. I reckon a feller would do aight with one of them, as Carl would say. One of my favorite movies, by the way. We have had two flatbeds with the CM beds. Our current one is on a '15 3500 HD regular cab diesel. It is about 11-12' long with the dog-eared rear end for gooseneck and 5th wheel clearance. It has the headache rack with the round horizontal members vs the expanded metal that was in the first one. This is a real nice improvement because doesn't create near the wind noise as the expanded metal. It has full LED lighting as well as rub rails with stake pockets. Ours is steel and the finish is holding real well. This one came on the truck but if I were in the market for a truck bed I would strongly consider this brand. They have a large dealer network so you shouldn't have an issue finding one, especially here in Florida. The one you have picked out looks very nice. Good luck in your search.
I have a simple CM SS bed. No complaints here it was a leftover 2013 model before they switched to the led lights and B&W hitches. Try to get the weights of the aluminium vs steel for the same exact bed. I wanted one with skirts and boxes but ended up getting mine at a discount as a leftover.
