Front Shock Assembly Replacement

I have a 2010 Ford F-150 XLT SuperCab 4x4 with a 6.5 ft bed. My passenger side front shock was damaged in a collision and I want to swap the assembly out but I'm confused on which to get because of all of the different options. The OEM shock on the truck shows a part number AL34-18045-EB and the door of my truck shows that it is not a 8200 GVW truck. However when I look at the two Moog replacements, the 8200 GVW shock (MOOG ST8600) looks like mine and the non-8200 GVW shock (MOOG ST8568) has a thin tubular rod between the bushing and strut that mine does not have so I am confused on which to get.

Any advice? Go with the 8200 GVW or just get the Monroe 171141 instead?

I think Ford has several springs they use based on options. I saw the same thing when I considered just buying a whole spring/shock strut. The MOOG 8200 GVW is the right unit but likely not the right spring. Your Ford dealer may be your best bet (or keep your spring and just get a shock).

I went with Monroe just to finish off the truck and get it back on the road but I'm going to save my oem springs and perches, buy the Bilstein 5100 struts and swap them over when I have the time.
