Only took me 9 years since I sold my 91 F-150 to buy a diesel. But I知 finally back. Just bought a 90 f-150 5.0 5spd 2wd from my cousin(use to be my uncles since new). It痴 in roughish shape but I think I can bring her back to life in my spare time. Last time I saw it run was in 04, they got it running last year but it was over heating. He took the upper intake an valve covers off before he realized he didn稚 know what he was doing and it痴 been sitting ever since. Don稚 think too bad for $300
Whelp I gave up on the white 90 motor was trashed because it sat full of water. And it was rusted an worn out figured just over 1k just to get it on the road. So today I bought another 90 exact same except it痴 an auto an it runs. Only rust/damage is the bed an needs a water pump. An figure out why it idles at 3k in park but normal in gear. Now it痴 time to get rid of the white 90
Just realized i haven't updated this for over a year. So put some pictures up.
Made a deal with my little cousin. I got the truck his mom bought for him to fix up for his first. He hated the truck his mom got him from the tow yard 01 F-150(don't blame him). So we're gonna restore the 90 together and when he gets a job he pays me back and it's his. He's gonna be 14 this year so we have time.
Next is pulling the motor and doing a basic rebuild. Swapping out busted interior and replacing the steering column. Found a mint seat that's suppose to go in there. New bed Cousin finally putting in some work. Dang paper flew up into the fresh silver on the door Fixing the door and repainting the fenders. Cousin decided to do away with the emblems 7 hours of wet sanding, buffing, and wax later.
Wow, props to you guys for diving into a project like that. I wish I had the skill to do body work - let alone in the outdoors - and have it turn out so good.
