100v inverter dash mod

Todays project: adding a 110v power inverter

I have been wondering why there are 4 cup holders in the front driver/passenger area of my f250.

For the most part the 2 cup holders in the dash are redundant and like most cup holders the springs were broke so unless i was putting a 40oz Old English in the holder it was even more useless than before.

I decided to add a power inverter i had laying around. Because why not. I might need to plug in a VCR or something.

I still have some fab to do but the most part this is what i ended up with.

for electronics you need a pure sine wave inverter

if for lighting a modified sine wave will work

check the watt rating of the inverter vs the power needs of the devices

your cables from the car power system to the inverter needs to be of the right gauge or that will limit power ...typically you need 10 amps of DC per 100 watts of ac.

make sure you put the inverter on the correct sized whitch relay else you could drain your battery if you forget to shut the inverter off.

One other thing when mounting the inverter make sure not to block the hidden compartment under the cup holders.
