Since the rumors of a "new" Bronco in Ford's lineup began in about 1998, I'd expect to see an Excursion from Ford no earlier than 2038. When Ford does a presser and has an official comment on a new Excursion, I'll give it about a 50% chance of production within 5 years of the press release. Expedition covers most of the immense SUV market for Ford, they'd only be competing with themselves.
All that stuff you see online is computer-generated vapor: look at the spelling, diction, word choices. The "videos" are nothing more than slide-show photos of existing models, conversions, or digital art collected from around the Internet. The narratives are computer generated. Examine the photos and ask yourself what you are really looking at - photoshop, artists renderings, or photos of pickup truck interiors. It's all BS, in my opinion. After that, if you still believe you have seen something credible, I'd like to take a look - post a link.
If you know how the EPA regulates car manufacturers - Ford would have to come out with an impressive engine. Plus, the Excursion would be expensive. Even the price for a run of the mill Tahoe is more than a pretty penny.

Not that many people are in the market for a 100k truck. You could buy a f250 and get it converted for 100k, but people don't do it. seems like everyone is looking to buy a second hand massively cheaper excursion, but no one wants to shell out the new cost.

At $30-$45k in good shape and refurbished nicely, these things would be a steal compared to new offerings. Nothing comes close in price or capability. I'm guessing that's what it would cost on average to find a decent one and do the things most of us do - replace and/or upgrade wear, maintenance, and convenience items, do some cosmetics, and fix the known issues. Springs, windshield leaks, steering/handling issues, transmission longevity, etc.
Not sure if one could make a business out of it after accounting for the labor involved. It took me so long to swap out the interior lights to LED that the parts cost around $35, but the two hours of labor at shop rates would have made it a silly expense... I bet I had two hours in that little project.
30k would be the top of a refurb price.... and that would be hard to get.
Body off restore and paint, 7.3 engine replaced or rebuilt (stock), HD transmission, locker rear, 2" lift with rebuilt front end, refreshed interior (carpet-leather)... sold for 30K at auction. Truck was 100% like new to "see". Wasn't mine.
Depends. A single data point is problemmatic when attempting to assign a "trend". That was at an auction, for one vehicle. Location, audience, publicity, lots of wildcards there. If done right, that truck was a steal and the seller must have lost their shorts on it. I would have loved to have seen it...
Sounds like what I'd want to do - new carpet, new leather, new headliner, HD trans, paint, and at least a short block. My plan is to make mine satisfactory for now, then start acquiring things for a major re-do when it becomes necessary.
Ford has too many SUV's already. Half of them are useless. They just re-upped the Exp/Nav model (sorry for your little truck, lol) so I highly doubt they will venture into SD SUV territory again. Everything seems to be trending toward battery power so anything big and heavy will suffer. The new SD's are ugly, the F150 is a douche wagon (where I live).....with a V6 I might add, they made a mustang out of a sedan (Fusion) and they keep buying buildings in the ghetto. I truly fear for the Bronco nameplate and have you guys seen the ranger? Woof. Seems all the latest decisions have been taking the stock price down the tubes as well. That should tell them something, but they know it all so dont hold your breath.
I've wanted a 2011 up EX conversion from Tim since I saw that they were being built. After having a 2011 SD PU, and now an EX, its the best marriage I can think of. Yes, quite pricey, but its the only way it will happen. It sure wont come from Ford, they're not that smart.
