so I’m shopping for a scanner for $200-$250 with all live data, abs and srs. Now not all scanners will read live data on the 7.3s like the blue point. The crp129 from launch looks pretty good but not sure if it’ll link well with the 7.3. And same with the Mac scanner that’s on sale now on the truck. Any reviews ??
what year 7.3???
not all 7.3's are obd-2 compatible.
if you have a smart phone or tablet, you can do pretty much everything a scanner will do for under $100 with a bluetooth adapter and either forscan or torque pro.
Unfortunately, short of shelling out $2500 on an IDS setup (with one-year license) I think you'll be disappointed with the quality of live data provided in this price range...............................the Innova "Pro" (around $200 on sale) gives "some" live data............but again, it varies heavily by vehicle and that's the case for most in this price range............
There's quite a bit of lying, hyping going on with the scanner vendors --- unless and until you see a full up breakdown of the PIDS (normal, extended, manufacturer specific) and the live data, ABS, SRS supported by the scanner under consideration FOR YOUR VEHICLE, you'll likely be wasting your money..........
hop on down to the 7.3 powerstroke forums and look at what some of the guys down there are running. you would be surprised at the information you can read with a simple down loadable app for a smart phone or tablet device.

Not exactly the same, but I'm amazed at what I can read with Torque Pro on my 96' f150 (OBDII). I think I have $20 into it between the app and bluetooth adapter. Had the adapter for 3 years too, so while cheap, it isn't junk. Well worth it. Plus, it plugs into any other OBDII vehicle and I can help friends out.
Yeah I’m still iffy on the smart phone thing. And Iv tried posting 7.3 stuff on the diesel form but Iv always had better luck on here. And yep the list of pids is what I’m worried about and that’s why I’m trying to see what other people have. I mainly want icp and ipr The two biggys
