My new excursion! Finally!

Hey guys I just wanted to share my new excursion I got about a week ago. Its a 2001 Excursion 7.3 diesel XLT w/ gray interior. It needs some tlc but I got a great deal on it and I'm well on the way preparing it for daily use. I'm really excited about my new truck and I'm looking forward to being in this great excursion forum community.

Aaron,

Things I've already had done:

brake fluid flush with dot 4 fluid

Things I'm planning on doing myself next couple months:
full brake job with nakamoto slotted rotors and ceramic pads front and rear
Oil cooler re-seal
oil change
front and rear diff fluid change to royal purple synthetic
Complete coolant flush w/change to ELC coolant
new degas bottle, rad hoses and thermostat
new front bumper, painted by me, new 05+ headlights and new grill
helwig sway bar
new complete stereo system install , head unit, amps and sub
sound deadening truck
new carpet, new seat covers, dash cover
new exhaust, air intake and tuner

Things I need help doing next couple months:
spring swap, bilstein shocks and steering stabilizer

Very nice - many of us are on the same journey, and thankfully others here will share their experience!

Best of luck in your build-up!

Hey guys, thanks for the encouraging words. The hardest part I've found so far is spending tons of money on "maintenance" items and not on "fun" items, sigh. Hopefully I'll get a bunch of time this weekend to start the diff service and brake job. Aside from the oil cooler leaking it has one of the turbo cooler lines leaking, does anyone know if that is a hard job to do to replace both turbo oil cooler hoses? Thanks!

Armylifer: It's got 265k on it, a little much but pretty much no visible smoke blowby out of the oil filler cap and it passed with a clean bill of health from a diesel fleet repair place.

pirate4x4_camo: tell me more about your idea, I've heard good things about ceramic nakamoto pads....I chose ceramic because I don't tow but once a year or so and only about 4-5k. Mostly its going to be a daily driver and camp rig/long road trip truck.
