Got an 86 f350 with the 6.9 and c6 tranny. Got the new motor put in a few weeks back the replaced Vacum pump and everything was good
started shifting funny, like staying in 1st way to long. Went to move the truck now no reverse at all. We're do I start. Fluid is great and the truck did have a problem down shifting
I am not a transmission guy, but I would check the shift linkage first, reverse band second, and vacuum modulator third. Also triple check the fluid, running hot in neutral after shifting through the gears.
Reverse started working after about 10 minutes of running.
know dont have 2nd gear
Have vacuum at the modulator on the tranny, tried changing the position of the vacuum thing on the injector pump.
Fluid is good, was working
