Hello all,
looking for some knowledge.
2012 F350 6.7.
Has had no issues .
Tried auto start this morning. Heard the truck give 1 horn beep. Went outside, doors were all closed, bright cab lights. Tried key. Glow plug light went out, turned key to start. Grrr Chunk Grr Chunk. Like a low battery would do. Disco batteries one at a time, voltage 16.7 and 17.3.
Applied batt charger. Says 100% charged.
Switched charger to 75 amp/jump start. Grr Chunk Grr Chunk!
I live in BFE and would hate to call for a tow.
any suggestions ?
Just removed the fender inner skirt me hit on it. No change.
It sounds like the starter engages ( Chunk Chunk) but just doesn't turn over completely. Can batteries show good voltage but not have the CCA needed to turn over the motor?
Update: the secondary battery ( drivers side) has a GREEN eye.
the primary battery: RED eye.
Im getting conflicting meanings on the web.
Im guessing it's bad.
Can I swap the batteries around to get it to the store?
Swapping the same two batteries around won’t change anything. If you have another vehicle you can borrow a battery from, maybe try that one in place if the red eye one.
