I'm looking for information on using an actuator on a flip front end on my 1950 F1. I'd like to put an actuator on mine I don't know what size or what length to get. If anyone knows of some place I could find out this info or has done it.

I am interested in seeing how this is done. I would also like to see how the front end hinge is mounted on the 48-52 tilt front ends. I have one for my 49 and if be bops don't get the mold done for the 49 front fenders soon i am going to run the tilt front end i have. I have called every one i can find and no one has fiberglass front fenders for my 49.
I bought my front end from a guy that decided not to use it. It came with a mount made by fairlane the mount works great I just wanted to know how to put an actuator on it.
Here is a nice system that I saw on a truck at a show some years ago. Not only does it address the issue of tilting the frontend but it also slides it back to seat against the cowl. The owner of the truck said that the setup was being fabricated somewhere in the LA area but they were no longer in business.
Thanks John. Very nice truck and great job. I have some figuring to do I mocked up some things yesterday and thought I need 12" of travel but after seeing you only had 4" of travel I don't know what to get now.
