Gain ? I don't know what you mean ?

If you know what you want to change, then First is make a backup of all the modules (ie Download to your system). This way if you make a mistake, you can always restore them.

Guessing by the OPs other post, I think he's referring to trailer brake controller initial gain setting. It's been a while since I set one up so someone else will need to chime in.

bingo!

Too much gain and the trailer tires lock up, too little and the trucks brakes work too hard

As for the TBC, I set the gain at 5 to start. When I tested it in a parking lot, it was a little light, so I bumped it up to 6, and it's been there ever since. As per usual, YMMV.

True or false - that setting is saved with the trailer info that you supply ?

And to the OP, don't think Forscan can set the "Gain". I've never seen an entry for it and it isn't a global setting. Ie my question above.

Don't know, as the trailer we use the brake with is the only trailer we use the brake with. It stays where I set it, and it knows which trailer is which.

I don't set the gain in forscan, I set it with the TBC itself. TBC has little +/- buttons, and pushing one or the other immediately displays on the console where the gain is.

Yes that is what I thought. I'm interested if it is stored with the trailer config once setup ?

You can name your trailers, and we have only two, our TT and a utility trailer. When we hook up, we set the "current trailer" via the console, and the gain on the TBC is where we we left it last time. So I don't know where it's stored. Could be the TBC, could be in the truck's console computer. I suspect the latter.
