I drive a 2017 Lariat - a beautiful truck and a joy to drive. Mine has the 4A transfer case setting which is perfect in Alberta winters, and I'm curious about the selectable mode in the 2018's. Is it similar to the 4A? I cannot find details in the Ford website.
I don't know the answer, but am intrigued by your question. I also have a 2017, but don't know what the 4a is. I have 4 wheel drive with locking rear all controlled by the dial on the dash. Is this what you are talking about?
Great questions! The answers are actually pretty important if you ever plan to use a mode other than 2wd.
I’m too lazy to type out a detailed explanation of what is asked...so I’ll refer you to the online owners manual on the Ford website.
Sometimes when someone says this, they are not being helpful...however, in this instance, it’s worth actually reading the manual on what those options are, how to use them, and when to use them.

Doesn't you 17 have drive modes. My old 2006 F250 had them (only 2) but it was selectable.
Of course they are....it's how my day is going. lol.
Okay, ironically, the links work when you click on them in the quote you did of my post....but they don't work in my actual post.

You have to have a Lariat or higher trim for 4A. It is basicly all wheel drive, you can actually run it on dry pavement it will reduce your fuel mileage. It's just an extra option, that's great on wet roads and heavy rain also.
