Hello all, this is my first post here, but I have been perusing the forums for the last couple months. I recently bought a '62 F100 styleside, and have been doing my best to get it back to driving condition. My project today was messing with the windshield wipers, and I am fairly certain that the wiper motor is toast. The wiper switch is broke, but I tried applying 12v to the motor, and nothing happened. As I was attempting to remove the wiper motor mount, one of the 3 mount bolt nutplates broke loose and is free spinning. The problem is that the loose nutplate is: 1) in a very tight location that you have to access from the engine bay, and 2) the nutplate is an odd shape...3/4 is round and 1/4 flat...if that makes sense. Any ideas if there is a special tool that can be purchased? Here are some pics for reference.
So I was able to get a 16mm open end wrench on the nut, and that allowed me to remove the bolt from the wiper motor mount. I wasn't able to find a wiring diagram specifically for my year truck, but I did find one for 1963 F100, and it shows that the wiper motor should have 3 wires coming off of it: black, red and green. My wiper motor only had two wires coming out of it: light blue(?) and black.
Pic of wires coming off of wiper motor: light blue and black. There is some burnt orange paint overspray on some of the wires. Wires were cut at some point by previous owner, and electrical taped back together going to pigtail off of wiper switch

The whole windshield wiper system seems original, but I'm at a loss as to the wiring and finding replacement parts (specifically the wiper motor). Any ideas? Thanks in advance!
I cant help ya, but I'll tell you this, I bet one of the other guys can AND for your first post, this is great info and pictures to help solve your problem.
It's getting more difficult to locate wiper motors and switches for these trucks. Since your switch and motor already appear to be toast you should consider upgrading to the 2 speed wiper motor kit from DC that's the route I went. Windshield Wiper Motor | Dennis Carpenter Ford Restoration Parts

I really appreciate the links. I was hoping to not spend any money on the wiper system, but I think I won't have a choice!
Try Car-Part.com set your search for distance. I took a quick look and it seems they go for $25 to $40 and there are a bunch of them listed but the only way to know for sure is to call them. I have found stuff on there before and called only to find that they had crushed the vehicle already. The advanced search on this site takes a little practice with key words and tags before you start getting anything useful back.

Thanks for that website! It'll definitely help finding parts that I need!
Since I'll have to replace my wiper motor and switch, I've been looking at old posts about upgrading to intermittent wipers, and that William had written a tech article about it quite a while back, but for the life of me, I can't find the article. Can anyone post a link or PM me a copy of that article please?
