Wiper Switch
So I'm thinking the switch is the culprit and want to replace it. The part number on the switch is C5TG17A553E. Anyone know if this is the right switch for a 62? And if so, where can I get one?

There is no ID number prefix for any wiper switch that begins with C5T and no wiper switch ID prefix contains a G as the 4th digit. Only a B or an F was used.
There are two different wipers switches for 1962, one for single speed wipers, another for 2 speed wipers.
Marked: C2TB-17A553-A or C2TB-17A553-C = C2TZ-17A553-A .. Single Speed Wiper Switch-3 terminals / 1962 F100/600 / Obsolete
47 available NOS from FoMoCo Dealers/obsolete parts vendors.

Marked: C1TF-17A553-C = C1TF-17A553-C .. 2 Speed Wiper Switch, 4 terminals (Motorcraft SW719) / 1961/62 F100/950 / Obsolete
11 available NOS from FoMoCo Dealers/obsolete parts vendors.

IF the switch is marked C3TB-17A553-E = The Ford part number is C3TZ-17A553-E = 4 terminal 2 speed wiper switch / Obsolete
Applications: 1963/65 F100/950 / 1963/66 Econoline / 1966 F100/350 before serial number 760,001 / 1966 F500/950 before serial number 802,001.
1961/66: This is the only wiper switch ID number that has an E for a suffix.
If your 1962 F100 has 2 speed wipers, it's possible someone used this switch in place of C1TF-17A553-C because they couldn't find one. Or...
Maybe you have a 1963 F100. What are the last 6 digits of the VIN?

Geez, I need better glasses...and not try to pull a part number in the dark. It (in the light of day) actually is C3TB-17A553-E. My truck is a combination of many years. The previous owner had the truck for many years and used many years part to fix her. The VIN for the engine/frame is from 1962, but the cab is a 64. So you are probably right on the money on the reason why this switch is in there. And it is a two speed motor.
I guess I should ask, would the incorrect switch be the reason why this one is cutting in and out? I was thinking about picking up the Painless universal switch #910-64056 from Speedway since I couldn't match the switch (to my made up number). Or should I try to find the correct C1TF-17A553-C?

If the cab is from a 1964, I would assume the motor is too, which means the C3TZ-17A553-E switch is correct....there are 4 available NOS.
There are 11 of the C1TF-17A553-C switches available NOS
You don't have to look, because I already have, will list the sources for one or both of the switches if you're interested.
As for the history of the truck, he had it for almost 30 years, and did tell me that the cab was from a 64 dump on the original 62 frame/engine. I know he used many parts from many years, and heck, I still can't even find a fuse box on her yet. So I'm not sure which switch to use, but would definitely know where I could pick up one that would work.

You want the switch that would be correct for the 1964 cab: C3TZ-17A553-E?
