I'm in the market for some loading ramps for an ATV we are thinking of buying. I do have a utility trailer I could use but would prefer to just load it in the back of the truck when we go camping. I don't want to break the bank with them but I also don't want cheap stuff. Any suggestion?
There are hundreds of choices out there, including making your own out of 2x8s. But if you buy them, make sure they're the folding kind. Being able to fold them makes it a whole lot easier to store them.
I got the factory ramps that can mount in the same cut-outs that the boxlink plugs into. I almost never have them attached there because the boxlink is what I'm always using. However, they have a couple of features that make them the best ramps I've ever used.
One is that they are telescoping, compacting into assemblies that are just about 4' long. Very easy to stow and take up very little space when not in use.
Two is the clever way they clip onto the edge of the tailgate. Very secure, and very easy to adjust the width to match whatever you need to load/unload.
