Ever since I swapped my tires out The TPMS has been cutting out after a few miles. I don’t drive far to work so it’s not every time but it does happen on longer trips. This is my first vehicle with TPMS. Is there a way to reset these? Is this a common issue? It never happened with my Coopers from a different shop so maybe it was an install issue with the new shop? Thanks
I would tend to blame the installer. However, when the installer is actually to blame it's because they broke the sensor. Intermittent failure might be the installer, especially if it was working fine prior to the install. I would start with the installer. Have them break the bead and inspect the sensor. If it all looks good then take it to Ford.
The was a recent thread with instructions for resetting the TPMS. Somewhere in the middle of the instructions I think it said you had to do the Hokey Pokey (and turn yourself about).
I had the same issue after 8,000 miles but I never even touched the tires. At first it would tell me my tire has low pressure like in the 40s but my TP is within range. Eventually, the TPMS no longer see the reading on the wheel and it will not retrain. The local Ford dealership has been changed the TPMS sensor 4 times, the TPMS module 1 time. The issue is now being escalated to Ford. Definitely have it looked at and fixed if its still under warranty.
Been driving a stupid EcoSport (which is good on gas but a crappy drive).
I have not touched my tires and 3 TPMS has been replaced under warranty, the 4th one already doing same thing intermittently. Will bring back to dealer to take care of it on my next oil change.
I have a 2011 with the tpms, but haven’t used the tpms vslves in any of my replacement tires. Used to get the tpms error message maybe three or four times a year since the system couldn’t find any valves to communicate with.
About three weeks ago, every time I start the engine I get a low air message. I don’t get the other message anymore.
Point being the tpms system is screwy. I just keep an eye on the tires. Much simpler

Apparently very common on our trucks. Dealer replaced one for me (under warranty) already, said there was liquid/water in the tire (assuming from the mounting process). Says they get lots of these.
PTL..The Ford Engineer figured it out. The 2017 F250 TPMS Sensor was listed incorrectly in the parts catalog. So the parts department kept giving them the wrong part. Once they got the right part, problem fixed. That's incredibly stupid.

if possible, please post the correct part number, just because it would help people who search and find this thread.
