Do you guys torque stuff dry or put oil on it?

The torque settings you see in the manual you see are for clean and dry threads and are reduced by 10% with lightly oil threads, unless otherwise noted.

No lubed, lightly oiled. Thread lubricant or other thread lubricants and anti seizes may require a reduction of up to 30% or even more. The manufacturer should have an average torque reduction percent for their product. If they don't have it then I would use a product that does.

Precision Instruments split beam. Very similar to the Snap-on, Identical to the Mac. Been using it every day for the last 5 years, still accurate and works like new. I've got both the 3/8 and 1/2, and a Gearwrench 1/4 which is ok, but it's got the twist handle which sucks for the bigger ones

Not sure if its just around here in West Central Fl or not, but if you have a better quality wrench, socket, or ratchet, like craftsman, and above, We can
take them to the Home Depot and they will warranty them with one of there Husky branded tools.

For a known weight, don't trust a bathroom scale. A gallon of water weighs 8 lbs. right on the nose.
A gallon of water weighs 8.34 pounds

A U.S or Wine Gallon of water weighs 8.34 lbs or 8 troy pounds of wine . A proper gallon (Imperial) of water is exactly 10 Lbs at 62°F
