Door bottom rust issue

I have owned my 2010 Scab since 2012 and always taken care to keep rust to a minimum by oil spray or Fluidfilm. The problem is that the weather stripping on the front doors tends to run off the paint and also hold the moisture. This summer I cleaned all the rust off and painted on some POR15, then too coated with some touch up paint. I'm hoping that this will last longer than the factory paint job, but I'm not too confident. The rust was not down in the seam, thanks to the Fluidfilm treatment. A body shop recommended removing the weathershipping, but that was terrible because all the road salt was pushed up further onto the sill plate. I was wondering if anyone has tried anything different to help in the problem area.the

Keep the weatherstrips / seals lub'ed - spray silicone, 303 Protectant, etc.. *minimize the rubbing, contact effect as well as preserve the weatherstripping / seals..

I actually just picked some of this up this year and started using it on some things. I think I did put a coat on the dust (bottom seal) when I was done. Don’t know if it will help or not. I used the 303 on my silicone wiper blades and didn’t care for it there. Silicone spray is so hard to remove if you need to clean up for painting purposes. Thanks for the suggestion.
