My son-in-law just purchased a used 2017 F-150 four door. The truck has an anti theft feature but does not have a remote starter. A few days ago the horn started to blow all by itself. My wife was home at the time and called me on my cell phone. The horn did not beep, it blew continuously and the lights did not flash. The truck was locked so I had her go get the keys and try pressing the alarm button and to lock and unlock the doors. Nothing worked, she even got in and started the truck but the horn kept on blowing. The horn blew for 10 minutes, at which time it stopped on its own and thus far has not done it again. The truck only has 20K on it so my son-in-law took it to a local dealer. They could find nothing wrong. Anyone have any ideas?
Is the anti-theft feature after market? I think that until you get it figured out, I would put a switch inline, and put it someplace where it would be quick and easy to disable it.
There's a horn relay in the Battery Junction Box which is directly controlled by the Body Control Module. While there are a number of things that can make the horn blow the final link in the chain is that relay. If it happens again pull the relay, smack it a few times in case the contacts are getting stuck and plug it back in. If that fixes it the relay is bad. You could also pull fuse F43 which is the horn fuse to just shut it up temporarily.
