glow plug relay issue

glow plug relay issue
I have a 1992 F-250 with a 7.3 diesel. I replaced the engine with a good used motor, and now the glow plug relay just clicks in and out. Will not turn on the glow plugs. All the fuses are good, batteries are hot, fires right up with a little WD, Any ideas on what is causing that relay to chatter? Thanks in advance.

Have you checked the individual GPS when they are isolated from the circuit? You can ohm them out for "best health" diagnostics or use a test light. I seem to remember a few posts on here that one of our two relay designs short cycles when 2, 3, or more GPS go bad.

Yeah I had this happen on my F450 a couple months ago.The easiest and likely best thing to do anyway,was run a devoted ground wire from the battery right over to the controller.Took just a few mins and now it's got a devoted ground so it wont have the issue again.If it ever happens to my other truck,I'll do the same.
