Converting to propane
I ordered my truck with the $325 bifuel manifold and hardened valves/seats. I'm ready to go if I do it. I have not received my truck yet. I should get it today. I believe they want the truck converted before 4000 miles for the rebate to kick in.
I sell Propane at my store so that's an advantage. We are considering becoming an auto propane filling station. Something I'm just looking into now.
For me.... I figure if I drive 20,000 miles on propane, I will have saved enough to pay for it if gas stays around $3.00 per gallon and propane around $2.00. Right now it's closer to $1.25 for propane and $2.80 for gas. Often times I see propane less than $1.00 per gallon. Simply put, it's a numbers game. Need to save $4000 to make it pay. Technically you can go further between oil changes since it burns much cleaner. Also, you still keep the regular fuel and can switch back and forth.
Here's a link to the place I would probably use. Everyone I've talked to thinks their really good.
