Anyone have a windshield sun shade that fits well and they would recommend. Looked at the weather tech and a few others all have mixed reviews. The one I’ve been using is a total P.O.S. Parking inside for the last 14 years will sure spoil you. Going to get the truck retinted with ceramic tint but looking for a new option for the windshield. Wanted to do clear ceramic on the windshield but with yearly inspections and having new sticker applied every year I’ve decided it’s not worth the hassle or them nicking it when changing the sticker.
I got one like this as a gift. It came in a nice pleather case and does well. Only thing is it doesnt collapse small enough for easy storage between the seat and console. I store it under the rear seat or rear window.
I have the Covercraft sunshade. Amazon sells them, made to fit. It is a pain getting it in and out of the windshield because it does fit PERFECTLY, and I have to move the rear view mirror, but the quality is superb. Great value at $57.00.
+3 the covercraft is a triple layer shade and does a great job at keeping the temp down inside the cab, I have dark tinted windows as well which helps.
Thanks Dave and Dirthawg I think 3 positive reviews or the cover craft is enough to talk me into pulling the trigger. My windows are also pretty dark 20% on the front and 20 over the factory 20% in the back which is about equal to 5% I’m going to have it redone in ceramic when I get the time to have it done so that should help as it’s supposedly better at rejecting heat and infrared, and uvrays. Thanks again guys.
Here is a picture of the Covercraft. As you can see, it fills up 98% of the windshield. The first handful of times I used it I was cursing it out, but eventually I figured out how to get it seated fully, without taking 30 seconds. Comes in different colors, I chose silver due to my truck being silver.
I went to advance auto and walmart and bought a couple that had Super Duty listed as fitment. The one that fit perfect was a walmart one, cost like 8 bucks and it works great. I use it year round, winter months mostly for UV protection
