No Regrets!

Hey all,

I was finally able to spend some time in my truck this past week. I spent right around 1000 miles towing the 5er and about another 500 or so mixed driving un loaded and I've got to say any reservations I had about selling my trusted 06 are gone. This truck handles my 5er way better than my 06 ever did. I was on the fence about the DRW but after towing this 1 time I'm sold. Would I enjoy driving this truck daily...absolutely, am I glad I don't have to...yes and for the simple reason that parking isn't the easiest with the wide hips, but I'm always the guy that parks in the middle of no where anyhow.

I managed to get right around 10-11.2 mpg depending on where the throttle was towing my 5er which comes in at about 14000 plus or minus. Im sure that I could've done better with the fuel if I slowed down some, but I wanted to keep up with the slower moving traffic. I like the added fuel in the long bed, it was nice not to have to stop and have enough fuel left to do some running around. I had a Transflow tank in my 06 and while the range was good, Id have to stop before I made it to the beach or Id be scrambling to get fuel right after I set up.

A few things Id like to add are air bags, the truck sat perfectly level, but it'd be nice to have the comfort of knowing there is a little help back there if needed. I also need to figure out where to find a nice spot to put the CTS and what to monitor, I'm hoping to find something compatible with the Built Right mount that goes above the radio.

Other than those couple of things I have to say anyone that's contemplating making the jump from a 7.3 or 6.0 do not hesitate, this truck pulls with no drama, no worry about gauge monitoring, it was nice to just set the cruise and relax. Even the domestic supervisor commented on how the truck pulled and how much more room was in the cabin and how quiet it was...Deep down inside I miss my 6.0 for the turbo and exhaust but at this point that's about it!

Great report and Congratulations on your New Beast!!! These New generation PSD are hands down towing Monsters.
I had the 2005 F350 with the 6.0 PSD, DRW, "Tow Boss" package with 4.30 gears towing my very heavy Excel 5th wheel and the 2017 is night and day better at towing and stopping it!!! Had mine for a year now and still smile getting in it and look forward to hitting big hills when towing.

The only thing I wish for would bring back to the dually's is the 350 Tow boss package. I looked and looked for a decent used 15-16 TB, but they were either beat, non existent, or way over priced. I'm happy with my decision and hopefully this will be my last truck.
