My trucks sync screen switches back and forth from black to blue. Is this normal. I’d prefer it stay black but cannot find a setting to lock it that way.

Hit the settings button, then hit the display button, and then pick either automatic, day, or night mode. Which ever setting you pick, that`s where it`ll stay.
something is on your dash blocking the sensor which picks up light (unless the sensor is bad).. the truck thinks its switching from day/night
Nothing blocking the sensor, it’d have to be faulty/over sensitive.

i had no idea there was a day/night time setting on this thing. I wish there was a way to adjust sensitivity so it wasn’t switching back and forth so often. Now that I know about this I’m sure there’s a correlation with the shaded areas and the screen switching back and forth.
FWIW, I prefer my own to be on night mode all the time. I was skeptical that it would be bright enough during the day, but I tried it and liked it. having tinted windows might help a bit with that but for me it's not a problem at all. and IMO just looks better.
Yes, I think it’s senitive enough in auto mode that shaded areas will make it switch. Mine will do that going from bright sun to under a highway overpass or overhanging trees and then back again.

Same here.
I keep mine in the night mode 24/7 and in my opinion, it`s perfect regardless of the time of day.
