Window visors

Waiting for my 2019, buying accessories. In channel window visors or tape on? Have had both, set of rear in channel fell out on me, both within hours of each. Any opinions?

A lot of folks have had similar experiences. I have tried a few pairs of in-channel to no avail. Ended up with the AVS low-pro seamless stick on. Wonderful.

Prefer the look of the in channel type but feel the tape on perform better. Really don't like having the window channel deformed by cramming visor and glass into the same slot.

I echo this. A couple of in channel visors in 2 brands of truck - same result. Smart windows would not stay up no matter how long I let them "seat" once I got the window closed.
AVS low profile work for me. I have a subscription to a local car wash and go there many times per month. The stick ons have never been a problem.

How long have you had the low profile visors? I've been looking for long term results on these, they are the best looking visors on the market and I want to be sure they hold up well.

I had weather tech dark tint in channels on my ‘03 F350 crew cab from day one. Transferred them to the ‘11 F350 with no issues at all (390k total miles) just used new 3m tape on rears. Put new set of weather tech dark in channels on this ‘17 F350 little over 11 months and 22k miles no issues at all after initial sealing. Follow the instructions about the clips on the front ones and auto windows will work perfectly. I don’t like the look of the stick ons at all.

I have the low profile ones in the basement waiting on my '19. Borrowed this pic. Have had the regular AVS tape on ones on my truck for 8 years with no issues. The low profile ones compliment the lines of the truck.

To each their own! I just think where they meet between the doors is not attractive at all. To me the in channel weather techs just look more custom as opposed to just added on. Go with whatever you prefer.

I have the low profile, matt black AVS visors on my truck; installed about a month ago. I like them a lot.

gonna throw out a probably stupid but legitimate question here - why visors? The only benefit I can think of is possibly for a smoker who wants to smoke in the rain. other than that I'm struggling to understand what these visors provide. honest question.

djjoshuad,
I used to think the same thing. I live in texas, and the heat is big. If you don't crack your windows during the day, it can get very, very hot inside. So, I leave my windows cracked while I'm inside the office. The other day, a freak thunderstorm popped up while I was working. By the time I realized it was pouring, my truck was on the other side of the parking lot, and it was wet inside. Solution: visors. The low profile ones aren't as ugly as the others.

I haven't noticed any wind noise with mine; however, I don't drive with the windows cracked, only shut.
