gonna throw out a probably stupid but legitimate question here - why visors? The only benefit I can think of is possibly for a smoker who wants to smoke in the rain. other than that I'm struggling to understand what these visors provide. honest question.
Can window crack in heat... but also a cheap very dark tint right at the angle where the sun likes to get in your eyes
I'm not sure about cracking in the heat; never seen that before. But, I have ceramic tint on all of the glass including the front windshield to reduce the heat; it works well.
Negative on the wind noise. Wish I had got the matte black instead. The smoke finish looks fine from the outside but I don't like the tint looking through from the inside.
djjoshuad,
I used to think the same thing. I live in texas, and the heat is big. If you don't crack your windows during the day, it can get very, very hot inside. So, I leave my windows cracked while I'm inside the office. The other day, a freak thunderstorm popped up while I was working. By the time I realized it was pouring, my truck was on the other side of the parking lot, and it was wet inside. Solution: visors. The low profile ones aren't as ugly as the others.
that does make sense. I'm a TX boy as well, and even with ceramic tint everywhere it is still nice to crack the windows. I usually park in the shade in my driveway or find shade elsewhere. I also tend to use the remote start when it's really hot outside . I definitely do see that benefit though now that you point it out.
I've been on the fence as far as which to order. After reading this post I picked up a set of AVS low profiles from Amazon Warehouse. $31! What a deal if they are in good shape. Definitely worth the risk.

You've never seen someone roll the window down an inch or so to reduce heat? Or do you think we mean an actual crack in the glass?
Here in the south, window visors are a must. 80 to 95 degrees with random afternoon thunderstorms almost daily....yup, visors make a HUGE difference
I've always had the AVS stick-ons and really like them.
If anyone is looking for the AVS low profile I would recommend checking Amazon Warehouse. I got them delivered for $31 and they were in as new condition.
