Sold my 7.3 looking for newer PSD 6.4 or 6.7?

Without openly bashing because I didn’t have any engine issues when I owned my 6.4. I just sold it and would never buy one again. Again just my opinion. Do your research so you can make an educated choice. It’s a very expensive engine to repair. Some have had great luck. Others not so much. When they run good it will run circles around a 7.3.
The 2013 and up is what I hear everybody say to go with if you still need a diesel.
I personally am currently repairing my 7.3 to drive.

Nothing to be afraid of. I'm absolutely delighted with mine and have very low concerns. As I echo what I've said before. There are more on the road with high mileage than those in this forum with problems. This forum on the 6.4 is a ghost town compared to any I've visited. Diligence in maintenance is key. Other than that, fuel it and go.

6.4 is rumored to be worse than the 6.0.. but both have owner with 200K mile adn run like a charm. other have spent THOUSANDs on repairs as well and compre them to dog crap on the ground.
the new ford have the CP4 possible issues but now there is the DNR pump replacement to fix that issue.. only way i would buy a 6.7 is with new pump.

If the 6.4 PSD isn’t the outright worst diesel engine ever put in a mass market consumer vehicle, it’s in the top three for sure.
Can they be made decent, yes they can, but that requires engine out (which generally means cab off, but that can be gotten around ) and a lot of money.
Then when you’re done, you end up with at least a 13 year old truck that’s not worth as much money as the parts you just put in it (not counting the labor you’d have to pay to get those parts installed if you can’t do it yourself).
