40 years separated

Here are a couple pics of my old 77 I sold to my B.I.L and my new truck. Build date of the 77 is Feb. 18th 1977. My truck build date was Sept. 15th 2017 if I remember correctly. Affectionately they are named Blue and Blue 2.0 Of course my youngest daughter had to be in pic too. She loves her trucks.

New trucks are always nice, but I think I would have held on to the old one as well.
Both good looking trucks!

I'll get another old one sometime. It was sitting more than anything after I gave it a refresh and I didn't like that. It gets driven more than I ever did which is good. I'd like to get a bronco or something.

I had a 77 F100 I bought in 79. My first truck. It had a 300 six and three on the tree. I suspect many today would be clueless how to drive one.

It would be interesting to see some clueless youngster get in a truck with 3 on the column and think it's an automatic. Where is the D, lol At one time that was the standard transmission, and they were quite common.

The thing about the 300 six was that it was such a torque monster that as long as you could get it into any gear you could get it moving. I routinely started out in second, only using first when carrying a load of some sort.

29 years old here, and I’ve never gotten the chance to drive one, but I know what they are and I would love the opportunity!
