40 years separated

Here are a couple pics of my old 77 I sold to my B.I.L and my new truck. Build date of the 77 is Feb. 18th 1977. My truck build date was Sept. 15th 2017 if I remember correctly. Affectionately they are named Blue and Blue 2.0 Of course my youngest daughter had to be in pic too. She loves her trucks.

My new one is a 6.2l. Hahaha. Guess I should have put it in the 2017 folder.

Looks like the 77 would eat the 2017 for lunch. The good old days when pickup trucks were just that a truck.

Yeah like most I would love to have the 77 body style with comfort of new trucks. The 2017 is pretty spartan the way I ordered it. Just base xlt with carpet delete, 4.30 gearsw/ locker. Manual shift 4x4. About as basic as it gets. Which I like.

I just ordered a 2019 configured the same way as your 2017 but a regular cab and white basic truck as a second family vehicle

What engine do you have in the '77?

Originally equipped with a 400. The original owner blew that up then they took a 351m bored it .030 over and put in a cam and mild head work with stock heads and put all 400 internals in so still a 400 just warmed over a bit. Runs pretty good. It has 600cfm 4bbl and performer intake. 4.10 gears and Detroit locker out back.

I second that. Those oldies look timeless but everything underneath is so archaic. The new trucks look hideous but the comforts and safety are impossible not to fall in love with. I can only hope Ford finds a better design direction soon.
