Check Engine Light?

Check Engine like comes on and truck runs bad, dies, misses etc. always cranks right back up. Light might stay on 5-10 seconds in the morning then it would be fine the rest of the day, Doesnt do this everyday, but its getting worse. Where should I start?
Appreciate any advise
