Need some advice here. First time new car buyer, first time Ford. My 19 CCSB STX 4.30 6.2 gas was built last week, awaiting transport.
When I ordered in April there was avail $2500 in incentives on 18’, not 19’. BUT I was forced to order 19’ because Ford had closed the 18’ order bank. Dealer did not lock in, (I understood there were no incentives available to “lock in” anyway on a 19’ back in April).
They also said “incentives are as good or better at delivery”——which is coming soon.
It appears that for 19’ there’s CURRENTLY $500 financing incentives available.
How do they make up the other $2000 to me?
Im fully expecting another $2000 to come off and them to stay true to their word. Otherwise guess I’ll refuse to accept truck, go to another dealer.
There's not much to do looking at other threads. You'll have to wait and see what the incentives are like at pickup and it'll be hard to get to $2,500 I suspect. Did you get it in writing or is it likely they'll just deny saying it?
I'm in the same situation with my 2019. So far all I'm seeing is the $500 incentive to finance. other wise you gotta do the haggle thing with the dealership. They have some wiggle room built into their pricing, but they determine how much they want to use it. All depends on local demand.
I picked mine up yesterday, ordered on 5/21. I had the PCO when I ordered. I got another 1500 plus 500 ford finance for 5000 total on my 19 STX.The 2500 STX is not available on the 19.
I just remember the dealer saying incentives are always bettter at delivery. There was $2500 in rebates on an 18’ when I ordered 19’.
Maybe there’s some secret we don’t know about. But since he said rebates are the same or better at delivery, they’ll be selling it to someone else if they are unable to offer another $2500 off. However that happens is up to them I guess.
My 2019 450 just got built and will be the 34th new Ford truck i've ordered. Most were bought from my local dealer. Good guys.
That said, salesmen tend to say things they have no business saying. When the year changes, they are at Ford's mercy for production and rebates. They would be better off telling you that up front. So don't Lynch your sales guy too quick.
It will still **** me off sometimes. I wish car buying wasn't such a game.

The dealer said what he said and you heard what you wanted to hear.
The rebates on an 18 were $2500 and you would get that or better IF you ordered an 18.
For whatever reason the order missed the model year 18 cut off.
You ordered a 19, and you are going to get the higher of the rebate that was available at time of order or at time of delivery FOR a 2019. That is exactly what the dealer said, but not what you heard.
Now if the dealer messed up and didn't submit your order on time, you might get some sympathy.
Otherwise look for an 18 in current inventory somewhere if you want a $2500 rebate.

If talking about the same model year then yes, typically but not always. When you are getting a different model year the they are usually always worse. The previous year always has higher rebates because Ford (or any manufacturer) wants to clear them out.
If you want the better rebates, find an 18 on a lot. You will not get much on a 19 since they are just starting.
