I have a 94 f150 with the ford 300 Inline six. So far its a stock motor and transmission. I want to get a cool air intake and camshaft for it but having trouble finding these. Also i would eventually like to change the gearing to get some more top end speed out of it. I'm open to any and all sugestions on where i could find these parts and anything else i could do to it. I Have about 2 grand to spend so please take that into consideration also.
the $200 you're going to have to spend on a cool air intake is a huge rip off.
You're better off going with a K&N replacement filter.
You can get a cam from summitracing.com or clif***************. I think quite a few cam companies make cams for the 300. Clifford is going to be really expensive though.
I've heard good things about the CraneCams truck power cam. Altho any cam with the same grind will turn out the same results.
What gears and tire size are you running currently?
If you really want to throw 2000 at it (sweet) then i would say get some headwork done, mill the deck, bigger valves and port and polish her. There's a lot of power to be found by increasing head flow on the 300.
Another mod idea that goes around here is to swap in 19lb injectors and fuel regulator. Once you get her to breath well, give her some more juice!
