Speedometer Bouncing Question
In my 2003 Excursion (2wd, 6.0l), the speedometer started bouncing after I completed installation of the new FICM. The Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) is reading fine, verified through the OBD port. The issue only happens when moving, and seems to get worse if when the accelerator is pushed. It is not a constant or consistent bounce. I had the Speedometer/Instrument cluster checked though Circuit Board Medics, and it checked out fine. So I think there is a wire chaffed somewhere that is causing this. Any post I've searched online usually are from Super Duties, and most talk about the VSS. Does anyone have any ideas for where to check for a bare/broken wire that could be causing this? I'm not looking forward to starting from scratch, so I'm hoping someone has had this or "knew a guy that knew a guy." Thanks guys!
