Does the clock spring in anyway control headlight high beams? I know I need a clock spring, airbag light, no horn, no cruise control. but on this trip my high beams stopped working. is this in anyway controlled by the clock spring. I know nobody can say for sure it's the same issue, but can a bad clock spring also affect headlight highbeams? 2009 E350 XLT with Cruise, keyless entry

The clockspring shouldn't have affect headlights---consult a schematic or fuse chart for your year chassis as the headlights are fused.
Most times issues related to things like turn signals, wiper operation and/or high beam headlights can be tracked to the multi-function switch controlling all those features. If that's the case its relatively easy to change---I dare say a bit easier than changing the clockspring!
BTW if you're about to dig into the clockspring make sure you disconnect the battery at least 15 minutes before----you run a slight risk of triggering the air bags if not.
yeah, no worries on disconnecting battery. high beams fixed.... well it was Operator error LOL I had been driving all day and into dusk and never switched headlights on, turns out I just had daytime running lights on. Duh..... my problem now and nothing anyone can do or tell me about.. Is I left home in June 2 days after clock spring issue started for a 2 week job which has now turned into 7 + weeks. I ordered one that is sitting at home and I am out of state and won't get home till next month.... But my inspection runs out this month..... Hoping I make it home to replace clock spring and get inspection without getting stopped.
