I have the 7 pin and 4 pin and they are both working I tested them with a tester


The Hitch says 11000 with weight distribution hitch.

Hi Guys, I bought a 2015 F150 3.5 Ecoboost with a 3.15 rear end, picked it up for a great price from a dealer here in Vegas. Was told that it had a tow package and I could tow 10,000 pounds by the seller. I just took him at his word and never checked it out. here it is a month later and I was looking for 'tow package' on the paperwork and it is not there, I called ford and they said I did not have a tow package just a hitch package. What would I need to add to pull a travel trailer weighing in around 8500lbs. I know I need a transmission cooler, and a trailer brake controller? Or that is what I was told. I was at the dealership today and confronted the salesman and he tried to tell me that I had it again, so I took him outside to the truck and showed him that I did not have a transmission cooler, all he offered to do was take it in on a trade for a new truck. I can not afford to trade in yet, but I am really handy in the garage at doing auto work (shade tree Mechanic thanks to youtube) I have watched many videos on the brake controller, and believe that will be no problem putting in. And the Transmission cooler looks easy. But any advice will be great. thank you guys.

 

I guess 3.15 axles are okay for pulling, according to the Ford chart. That would make me nervous. If I am going beyond 7,000 or 8,000 pounds I'd much prefer a F250.

 

You need the TBC and the tow mirrors. Other than that you should be fine for around 8K.
