I have a 1976 f150 with factory air. The blower motor is not functioning. There is power at the fuse block but no power at the fan switch. I have checked the blower resistor and it is ok. Where to check now?
after the fuse, power goes through the AC mode switch, when it is on a fan relay is powered sending power to the fan switch...the problem is probably in one of those 2 places assuming your wiring is in good shape...
assuming power is making it through that switch, you should have power on the yellow wire...this wire should go to the relay which (if working) will provide power the the fan switch and one side of the blower motor resistor...
I had the same problem today. Blower motor just quit. No warning... just stopped. After tracing and checking voltages, I found no power to the fan switch, and after more tracing, I found that relay switch under the dash near the glove box. Turned out to be no bueno! Just to verify, I jumped the terminals on the relay and the fan started up and ran on all speeds. Got a new blower relay on it's way to the local Oreilly's ($13)... should be here by 3 tomorrow. I love the fact that they actually put that thing in a really easy spot to change!
Funny thing was... in my Ford Shop Manual... there's a flow chart for troubleshooting the blower motor. It says nothing about checking the relay!
