This may seem trivial to many, but I would appreciate any feedback for my question. My 08 F250 KR, 6.4l truck does not have oil temperature that can be read from the gauge cluster, or from the info. My question to the group, how do you read your EOT? For owners with trucks 08-10. Has everyone added a stand alone gauge? I have plugged in four different OBD2 scanners (Accutune, BlueDriver, and Mac Tools) all of which does not read the EOT either. I was finally able to see my EOT with a Snap On Modis that a guy I work with has. It read EOT, but just not practical for ongoing monitoring, like when towing my 5th wheel and checking how the engine cooling systems are performing.
I have recently purchased a Banks iQ monitor, and EOT it is not one of the PID's that is read. Seems odd to me, but I am having a very difficult time getting anything from Banks on my question of why this expensive device does not read EOT.
I use an Edge CS2. I looked on the Banks web site and the iDash monitor(if its the same as yours) will read oil temps. Dig a little deeper into your instructions.
I am finding that the Edge product would have been a better fit than the Banks. I did not purchase the iQ Dash Super Gauge, but rather the iDash 4.3 inch screen for use with the Six Gun Tuner. The iDash monitor only reads a few PID's. EOT is not one of them unfortunately. It is disappointing that Banks does not have more PID's being read, and have the flexibility to add them if missing.
I use Scanguage II ..... Plug it in an leave it .... You can get a continuous read and monitor for about 30 different items.. I have made additional changes to the readouts.. I added compensated speed calibration for larger tires and digital fuel percentage. The shows Engine Oil Temp and Water Temp https://www.scangauge.com/products/scangauge-ii/
Thank you for the info, this is the way to go. I like the expandabilityof the Scangauge and it looks simple to use. Gives a lot of engine data at your finger tips.
