Crown Vic Donor Mileage

I am searching for a f100 to start my dream project truck. The plan is to do the crown vic swap and possibly an ls engine. My question is regarding the mileage on the crown vic. I found one locally that has 300km (186 miles). He claims he's done new brakes. I'm wondering if that mileage is too high, or should that not be a concern if I'm just using the front end and selling/scrapping the rest?

The Crown Vic is a tank, I wouldn't hesitate about that kind of mileage. Of course, my daily driver pickup has 542,xxx miles on it and runs perfectly so maybe i'm biased.

Anyway, are you definitely only using the front and scrapping the rest or have you considered putting your truck body right onto the vic frame? It looks like a lot of guys are using the whole Vic frame. I was looking at doing the front end swap and then going 4-link in the rear but when you add up that cost/work I wonder if it's not easier just to swap the whole frame???

No LS! lol Keep it Ford!

I guess I should have known better than to mention LS on a ford forum.
Thanks for the thoughts on the crown vic. I was originally looking for a lower mileage salvage one, but if I can get a running driving donor for a decent price with higher miles, I'll maybe jump on it.

Regardless of the mileage on the Crown Vic IFS, factor in replacing bearings, bushings, calipers, rotors, and tie rods. If the previous owner says they've recently been replaced or rebuilt, you'll have to use your reasoning to determine whether his statements hold water or whether it is a good idea to replace them anyway in order to establish a base line.

In terms of an LS into a Ford, I have no qualms doing so with these trucks but it's YOUR truck so you do as you please.
