Thoughts on 7.3 CCV mod?

I bought my truck used and it already had the CCV mod done to it. My local diesel shop recommended returning it to stock re-circulation, but reading up on it online there seems to be more benefit to keeping the CCV mod versus recirculating? Should I keep it or return to stock CCV routing?

I read that thread before posting. There is no definitive reason for or against the mod, from what I can tell it comes down to personal preference as a lot of people complain about the smell it adds. With my truck there is no noticeable smell. I've also read where IH designed the engine with the CCV exhaust/mod included, and that Ford engineers wanted to make the Ex more family friendly so they decided to recirculate... It makes sense to me that extended exposure to oily mist would not be great for several components.
