After getting stranded a few weeks I changed the battery cables and I decided to add a ground from the battery to the firewall
This seemed to fix the issues with starting so I was going to work on the other issues.
None of the dash gauges worked other than the fuel gauge.
No dash lights worked
No interior lights worked
So i get my Fluke meter and test light to start testing and everything was working before I could test
Adding the ground wire must have fixed other electrical stuff

Yep good grounds fix a lot of things.
Good to hear you did not have to dig too deep to fix it LOL.

I was surprised of all the grounds just in the engine bay of my 81 F100 with a 300 six from the factory.
In rebuilding this truck I ran new cables & ground wires and so far just starting and moving the truck it has started & ran every time I turn the key.

I did do something dumb, when I had the gauge cluster out for rehab I did not replace the bulbs and I saw when it was a little dark in the garage I had a bulb or 2 out so will be pulling and replacing them all.
