Transfer Case Question
I've had this 2014 5.0 for a couple of months and am beginning to think the transfer case is 'no more good'! I was using it to drag a downed tree in low and it worked fine I was done with the heavy stuff so switched to high, steep hill wet grass didn't want to tear up the grass, and it worked fine until I tried to back up grind grind grind! Worked fine in low and 2 wheel. I have never liked electric shift or auto hubs, give me ***** and levers any day. Could this be that the shift was incomplete? Idiot light said 4x4 high and I tried shifting a couple of times. Seems strange to me that it backs up fine in 2 wheel and low but not 4x4 high, does it run on a different shaft or gears in 4 wheel drive? Any one seen this? Please help educate me. Any insight would be much appreciated. Thanks for looking

I’ve had my 2006 F350 make loud grinding noises coming out of 4lo. Only use it for plowing though, snd don’t use it very much.
I’d say put it in 4lo (stopped, in neutral, foot on the brake), drive a few feet, then shift back to 4hi (also stopped, in neutral, foot on the beake) just to make sure it cycles through the full shift in and out.
