Fuel line problem

I have an 86 6.9 and I seem to have a fuel line that is leaking, it comes from the back of the fuel filter housing, and runs down the left side of the motor to a T, it has a tube like thing on it that has one or two wires coming out of it, and I do not know if the tube is necessary or not, or what it is for that matter, but I need to fix it, it is allowing air into my system and making starting it in the morning a huge pain

That's your fuel supply line from the mechanical pump to the filter head.

The round part with the wire is a fuel heater, this was 6.9 specific, 7.3's have it integrated with the fuel filter housing.

Pull it off, find the pin hole and solder over it.

or just eliminate the fuel line heater completely if you are not in a cold climate. the heater in my 88 has been disconnected since 1990 and i never had any problems, even in sub zero temps.
