And would 7.50x20's fit on 6 inch rims? Just thinking I could run the tires I have now for a bit. But have the option to go with 8.25's down the road if I get 6 inch rims now.

The measurement is taken down inside between the lips. A 7.50” will work on a 6” rim, but the 8.25” is generally not shown as correct for the 5” rim. There is one reference, the old Ford Green Bible, that has them listed but tire and wheel industry references don’t agree with it. Stu

Thanks Stu. Any advice on how to restore old split ring rims, just so I don't do anything that might get me in trouble?

Are your split rings the Firestone RH or RHP types that have a solid unbroken ring, or the kind with split rings, generally Goodyears? There is also the three piece Firestone R-5° having a solid side ring and small split ring. If you are unfamiliar with working on wheels I think it’s best to have a shop do them. Once apart I’d sand blast or wire wheel each wheel real well, making sure of no damage, then prime and paint. Stu

Yeah, those are the imported, factory new, wheels that several here have opted for. They look different, but are the most straight forward fix there is, aren’t priced too awful high, and are the safest option of all. DOT approved with a warranty. The day will come when all the good old wheels will have been melted into Kias and these will be the only solution. Stu

They are the un-split ring type of rim. Mt M135 has a mix of widowmaker type and two piece ring style rims.
I'm going to borrow rims off an old forklift made out of old truck parts, but I still will need to source more to make up
6 good rims. I have not been able to get time to take them apart yet to see what numbers they are. Might have to wire brush to make out
anything. First I better get her parked where I can work on her before removing the wheels.
I will go as far as I can, if It is to much for me then I can take to the pro's.
I have my local country garage looking into 7.5 x 20 bias ply's. Hope he has good news.

If you have the solid / unbroken ring variety they should be handled by a pro at your service facility. They take an experienced hand. The part numbers on your wheels will be on the concave rim lips or on the concave side flat between lug holes. Stu
