Hi folks,
we are trying to ID my dad's old COE and need some new eyes/ideas/clues.
hopefully someone on the list can help.
my father had this COE from 1958 to 1963, so we know its older then that.
we were poor, so highly doubtful he would have had it new, so it could be as far back as they made COEs ('30s?)
we only have three (3) scant pictures of it, non good enough to give a proper Make, Model and approximate year, which is what we are hoping to investigate and find out.
No front end pictures, except one that only shows the ' tip ' of the nose/hood.
hoping someone on the list can notice some clues for us.
1. first pic., taken in 1959. looks orange but is really yellow. Nose poking out behind a tree. I can't find a emblem like that anywhere?
2. second pic., taken in 1961, just catches cab rear of door and the dump bed.
3. thrid pic., taken in 1963, in the distance, facing away, duelly rear, shows rear window and cab top over dump bed.
ideas appreciated if you'all have any.
pictures posted below.
thanks,
steve
Thanks for the responses guys.
any chance someone has a 47-55 and can shoot a "same angle" picture of the nose and hood emblem.
i would sure like to see a comparison photo as the next step.
the lip/nose on my dad's truck just looks a bit more puckered out, and the emblem is still not fitting the GMC and Chev. emblems i see in pictures.
anyway, thanks to all.
steve
I'm sorry I have failed in my mission. I have only left my property about 4 times since I made this offer. 3 times I forgot my camera and I always seem to be rushing to a job site or meeting. This afternoon I thought about google images. Here are some pictures from the 'net. Your's really looks like an advanced design (AD) chev.
