Thanks, I need to know about this. It might end-up being the solution to my deep-water problem.

Did you change the whole harness on top of the engine, from the valve covers back to the computer?

How did you match-up the right harness? Part number? New or used?

With high-voltage involved, heat, vibration, solvents and clumsy hands, a new harness sounds like a solid investment (bet, whatever?).

This is what I am calling my deep-water problem:

The part that was changed was the engine/injector harness. It's not too big really, it plugs into the valve covers, glow plug relay, ICP, CPS, some other small sensors on the motor and the starter relay. The main connection plugs right into the engine bay harness near the fuse distribution box. When I pulled my other motor from a wrecked truck, I pulled all the wiring harnesses from the truck as well so I had this spare harness laying around. I believe this harness would be the same from 1994 PSD to 1997. The Super duty harness would be different due to having a different valve cover gasket/harness and probably small other changes in electronics as well. I wouldn't be surprised if you could modify the super duty harness to fit though, but I could be wrong!
