2003 Excursion LED Flasher relay

Anyone have any issues with PERMANENT clicking from a new relay with or without LED's. Tried swapping all the bulbs back to incandescent and same problem remains. It's not lighting the indicators, just clicking away as if it should be when the Ex is off. I put the stock Ford one back in for now.

The one I picked up from Advance Auto is an EP27 from Novita. If it wasn't doing that (and also some current draw) I'd leave it because the indicators are timed much better with it than the stock Ford one.

I bought my LED flasher from Superbrightleds.com, years ago, and never had an issue.

I had a clicking that would happen even with the truck off, turned out to be my multifunction switch (believe it or not). Search it up and you'll see Im not the only one.

Good luck

I just changed my Excursion’s tail light bulbs and front turn signal bulbs to LEDs. I have aftermarket head and tail light for a total of 6 LEDs. I installed a Novita EP27 flasher and all 6 LEDs flash at the correct interval. Very pleased!

I've got a Y2K-X, and am looking forward to changing my lights to LED's...
So I purchased a EP27 Flasher LED from AutoZone of $8.00, and went about
taking out my radio, with the "U" shaped hooks...to access the flasher unit...
Reached down and got the cover off ok, but have been UNABLE to pull the flasher out...
Tried and tried...rotated, twisted, and pulled as hard as I can....
And it just won't come out....PERIOD....
Looks like my only option now is to use those resistors , and wire them in...
Do I need just 2 of them....one for each side,,
or do I have to wire in 4 of them, one for each corner of the truck, front and rear ????
SuperBrightLEDs has them for sale for $5 each....$10 or $20 worth.. which ????

Thanks for confirming. Mine has the right pulse, but never shuts off. Sounds like it's the multi-function switch. Trying to find a good source.

Mine did the same thing a couple of months ago. It was the multi switch. Swapped it out and works like a champ now.

NO, I did NOT get a good deal! (I assume you are referencing the multi-function switch? Also paid more for the SuperBrightLed stuff cause never had an issue with quality.)

While its clicking away, you can unplug the multi-switch and it see if it goes away. I opened up the plastic that splits in 2 around the steering column, and unplugged mine to check without having to further disassemble anything. Its a pain but not impossible.

I have the lower dash apart, and have full access to the relay. It's definitely clicking away even when the truck is off (though only lights the lights if running/on position.

That's enough replies guys, and thank you for the input!

Grabbing a new multi-function switch asap.
