Am going to be changing my front park lights and turn signals to white LED lights. Problem is the turn signal will do the "quick flash" (like when a turn signal bulb is blown) because of the lower voltage of the LED.
I've fixed this on many other cars by replacing the factory turn signal flasher relay with an electronic flasher relay available from most parts stores. but don't know where it is located on
Does anyone know where the factory relay for the turn signals/hazard lights is located.
I can tell you in a couple of days when my factory manuals arrive. I just ordered factory service manuals and wiring diagrams delivered from Ebay for $33 total!!!!
From what I can glean from the manuals, the turn signal is all FET control from some control module. I would assume that this means its not the old school resistance type flasher. You could easily validate this by removing a turn signal lamp and seeing if the flash frequency changes.
^ removing the bulb does cause a "hyper flash" from what I've read I belive the relay is in the "smart Junction Box" in the passenger kick panel. Going to look for the relay this weekend.
Worst case if i can't find the relay I'll just add a load resistor for each bulb
